The water in the upper harbor has been relatively clean and has not been affected by the red tide that is effecting the beaches. Even though it has been warm over the last month or so we’ve been working a winter pattern that includes working between fronts and the wind that’s included. It’s been encouraging to see the numbers of spotted sea trout out around the bars and the grass that’s beginning to grow. There are decent numbers of redfish moving along the mangrove edges but they are very wary and a long, 40 foot, accurate cast helps a lot. There are lots of ladyfish in the area and it’s not unusual to run into a school of jacks just about anywhere.
