Pine Island Charter

A Pine Island Charter Is The Dream Of All Fishermen

Hidden away from Floridas hustle and bustle is a special place called Pine Island and a special adventure on a Pine Island Charter. Booking a Pine Island Charter is like taking a trip back in time to what fishing in Florida use to be like 100 years ago. Sleepy little fishing communities dot the island. Fast food restaurants, souvenir shops and theme bars are hard to find. But, some of the best inshore fishing you will experience anywhere on the Gulf Coast is what this area is known for.

Poling quietly through the Mangroves your guide will put you up close and personal with some of the areas most sought after game fish. Speckled Trout, Red Fish, Snook and Tarpon live in these back waters and are amazing willing to take the opportunity to attack a well placed fly or lure.

Most of the fight happens on top of these shallow waters and fishermen enjoy seeing everything from the initial strike to the release.

These inland waters are made up of grassy flats, brackish creeks, rivers and oyster beds. All are perfect sanctuaries for trophy salt water inshore fish. There are so many estuaries, coves and inlets you will probably not run into another fisherman the entire day.

Most Productive Times To Fish

January through March is the slower time of the year. It takes a little work but Speckled Trout can be cohered into taking a hook this time of year. In March the Tarpon are just starting to show up and a dedicated angler can pick up a few per day.

April though June the name of the game is Tarpon. As the waters warm the Tarpon become more active and start readily taking flies and artificial lures. These acrobatic fish are very aggressive which is way avid fishermen return again and again to Pine Island this time of year.

July through September the offshore bite is going strong. Snapper and Grouper and being caught in large number. In September the Red Fish are starting to show up in large numbers and the inshore fishermen are enjoying tremendous days on the water.

October through December is when Snook are in the inshore waters. These leery fish are a challenge for even the best of fishermen. When it comes to Snook fishing it is more hunting than fishing as your guide finds fish for you to target.
