With November right around the corner, and the influence of a super El Nino weather pattern, It Looks like we may be in for a wet windy winter. Typically, this time of year has always been about working around the fronts and this year could even be more so. As a result, when I’m not able to fish Pine Island Sound, I’ll probably stick closer to home and spend more time up the Peace River. For sure, It’s a bit different habitat but does provide cover from the wind as well as some deeper water. Too, it’s full of small creek systems that snook, redfish and tarpon migrate to during the cooler months. In fact, some of the biggest snook I’ve ever seen caught have been up the river and it’s a great place to get a shot at rolling tarpon. I’m actually looking forward to it and will document as much as I have time.
